Happy New Year, friends!

Hope you all were able to have a restful holiday break and are feeling a energized with the start of a new year! We’re still in this version of pandemic “normal” and will be for a while yet as vaccines are just starting to roll out in the US, but just being in 2021 after a less than stellar 2020 has me looking up - even if our day to day isn’t changing much at all for the time being.

I am hoping this year that I’m able to be a little more active around here, so I am starting up one of my favorite blog series from reading other blogs - a weekly round-up of links to check out! Perfect for diving into some quick hits at the start of your week when you’re looking for a work break or something fun to bookmark for later. Heck, having a more formal reference list of things I’m wanting to read/shop/look back on is a big motivator for this! I definitely have a bad habit of saving things in 15 different formats (screenshots! Bookmarks! So.many.tabs.) and I’m hoping to be a little more streamlined going forward.

Without further adieu!

Have you watched Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical yet? If not - seriously, RUN here and check it out before it expires today, Jan 4 at 7pm EST. I’m really hoping they release an official soundtrack of this very fun crowdsourced effort.

This excellent interview with recently-retired Imagineer, Joe Rhode

A great resource on Christmas decor storage, for anyone else like me who is taking down their holiday decorations this week. I don’t know how people bear taking it down the next day but we always aim to get everything down by whenever our sanitation service does Christmas tree pickup in the new year.

Seriously debating picking up these adorable Mommy & Me jackets that give off major ShellieMay vibes (ShellieMay is one of Duffy’s BFFs - here’s the background on them straight from the Imagineering source!)

Zach Johnston at Uproxx figured out the recipe for the shortbread cookies from our favorite new show in 2020, Ted Lasso, and I cannot wait to try it this week now that we’ve finally finished off the rest of our holiday desserts.

Finally, learn about the Norwegian concept of koselig - similar to hygge, but with an extra dose of making the best out of a bad situation, this “unified theory of coziness” is the perfect antidote for the extra wintery-feeling winter on the horizon thanks to the pandemic.
