Monday Morning Roundup

Hi friends! Hope you are all having a good start to your week!

We had a somewhat quiet weekend, mostly just catching up on some new releases - the finale of WandaVision, the latest Disney animated feature Raya and the Last Dragon and Netflix’s new animated family series City of Ghosts. All were excellent! I’ve been somewhat hesitant of the Disney+ premier access model - it’s a good deal for a family, but definitely feels like a higher cost than a lot of the other digital releases this last year because of more expensive fee coupled with the subscription required to even have the option. That said, you do get the film for the full ~3 months before it gets launched to all subscribers (instead of a 48 hour rental), and Raya specifically is such a well-done, beautiful film that it was worth the charge for us. Plus it feels good to support a diverse film that a lot of our friends worked on! I do hope that Raya gets a re-release in theaters once more of the population is vaccinated against covid though, as I’d love to see this on the big screen! (As of now, LA’s theaters might be reopening soon - we’re close to stepping down to the next “tier” - but we personally won’t be going to theaters until we’re vaccinated.)

Today is International Women’s Day! Here’s a list of women-led LA businesses to check out.

If you missed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s important interview with Oprah about their struggles with mental health, racism and their relationship with the rest of the Royal Family, it’s streaming on CBS

ShopDisney has some cute new home items on their site - I love the Parks trinket trays like this Animal Kingdom one, and the whole home collection by Jerrod Maruyama! The nesting bowls seem great for making cereal a little extra magical at breakfast.

I’ve been reading more about theme park history since we haven’t visited the parks in over a year, and this new book about the process of buying the swampland in Florida that became Walt Disney World looks really interesting!

These aprons are really chic, comfortable and inexpensive! I got it in both yellow and mint :)

Tubby Todd released their new spring scents! The pomegranate pear body wash sounds delightful - this link gets you 10% off their site if you want to check it out.

I’ve been looking for some new quilts for picnics, and love this spring-y linen floral option.

This tongue and cheek commentary on the theory frenzy surrounding WandaVision and how some fans were frustrated by those (sometimes wild) theories not being included in the show was a good read.

The perfect virtual workshop for Women’s History Month - The Walt Disney Family Museum is partnering with artist Ann Shen to celebrate Mary Blair on March 17.
